Time with Daddy

Eva is definitely a real "Daddy's Girl"...and I have been able to get some really good pictures of the two of them together!

It is so fun to see how much Drew adores his little girl...it melts my heart! Eva has moved from calling Drew "Da" to now saying "Da Da Da Da."

FYI...she does say "Momma too"!!

Eva is also into being naked lately!!

Nose Kisses!

Reading with Daddy on Christmas morning.

Brushing teeth with Daddy

Eva was pretty sick here...she fell asleep on Daddy while he was
reading to her...poor baby!

Bored...

It has been FOREVER since I have blogged. Our good friend Jonathan advised me today that I have been slacking. Which is very true...and when you have an almost 1 year old...things are ever-changing. It isn't like there isn't anything going on that I blog about!

But this is not going to be a "catch you up on everything that has been going on in our lives in the past month+" blog, because...I am lazy. I have a list of things to blog about and my plan is to sit down this weekend while Eva is napping and get it done!!!

This blog, however, is being written because I am a little bit bored. Drew is on a business trip to Philly, it is the first time he has ever been away from Eva!!! He certainly misses her and I know she misses her Daddy!
She is in bed right now, which means that me and the pugs are hanging out. In the last 2 nights, I have watched the Bachelorette, So You Think You Can Dance and my fair share of House Hunters and the Food Network.  But I am over TV...I want my man back so we can hang out together!!! Thankfully he gets home tomorrow, albeit after my bedtime, but whatever!! Safe travels Drew! See you soon!

Yardwork

This past weekend we spent time outside...raking, pulling dandelions, laying down seed, weeding and watering. We did most of it while Eva was napping...but when she woke, she decided that she wanted to help!

It was a beautiful day. There is still a lot of work left in the yard, but I guess that will have to wait until the snow that we are getting clears up tomorrow.

Congrats...

...to my MAIN man Drew!!!

He was offered a new job at CNA Insurance and starts on March 21st. So excited for and proud of him! CNA is a commercial and business insurance company and he will be a Material Damage specialist. He is little bummed that he will no longer be able to come home and see Eva and the pugs at lunch, but the benefits outweigh the negatives!!!

Good Job Babe!!!

Thanksgiving!!!

Today I am thankful for so many things...hard to name and number them all, but I can certainly try!!

I am thankful for coffee, I thankful for red wine, I am thankful for music and movies--especially Audrey Hepburn movies, I am thankful for hot baths, although I rarely ever take one. I am thankful for ice cream and chocolate. I am thankful for a clean apartment. I am thankful for cold weather on Thanksgiving (70 degree temps in AZ just doesn't feel like Turkey Day to me). I am thankful that I have a good job. I am thankful for a camera that can capture all of our memories. I am thankful for my college degree and how hard I worked to earn it. I am thankful for high heels and good fitting jeans. I am thankful that I am almost back into those pre-pregnancy, good fitting jeans. I am thankful for all of the huge bows I put on Eva that I think are so cute!! I am thankful for artwork. I am thankful for books and free speech. I am thankful for cell phones and text messages.

And now for the important stuff....

I am thankful for my sister, who is a huge support to me...who I never believed my dad when he said she would be my best friend, and it turns out that it is true. I am thankful for my brother-in-law...because he makes me laugh, is so sarcastic, but most importantly, loves my sister so much. I am thankful for my handsome nephew...without him, I may never have decided to have a child of my own.

I am thankful for my brother...who, with all of our drama in the past, I love very dearly.

I am thankful for Drew's sisters, who have become my own as well.

I am thankful for my extended family...aunts, uncles, cousins...while we are all so far away from each other, I never forget for a moment how special they all are.

I am thankful for my amazing friends, new and old...my support system and shoulders to cry on. I have to mention that I am thankful for all of my "J" friends...no more or less than my other friends, I just happen to have a lot of friends who's names start with "J" - Jeniffer, Jen, Jenny-Mack, Jenn Wingert, Jennifer Paytas, Jill, Julie.

I am thankful for my Daddy--I am thankful that he is here with us to share another holiday and I am thankful for the person who died so that he could live, I am thankful for my madre, who is a beautiful person and takes such good care of me and my family.

And for the really important stuff...

I am thankful for Motley...I adore this dog, love how he cuddles and snores and has unconditional love for everyone.
I am thankful for Peanut, that we were able to save her and give a good home where she is loved more than I can say.

I am thankful to have been blessed with a beautiful and healthy baby girl, who makes everyday just a little brighter, who warms your heart when she smiles and breaks that same heart when she cries.

I am thankful for Drew...for all of the difficult times we shared together, that have helped shape our lives today and for knowing that we are better for all of it. I am thankful that I have a partner who loves me, supports me, challenges me, makes me laugh and cooks for me everyday! I am thankful that I have someone in my life that makes for a wonderful partner and an amazing father.

Of course...the list goes on and on. Thanksgiving is so special because it gives us a time to remember all of the blessings we have in our lives...blessings that we may take advantage of every other day of the year.

I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday with your friends and family and pumpkin pie!!!

The snow is here, time to ski

What a great day today. Big Spoon and Little Spoon (Daddy and Uncle Glembo) got to hit the slopes today - Daddy for the first time this season.

A blue sky, bright sun, new skis, season pass and some new chairs for afternoon lunches in the parking lot with the sock monkey.
I can't wait until Eva is old enough to pick a board or some skis, get into some lessons, and be the cutest, gnarliest little princess to hit the slopes. Ski days with Daddy followed by the best dinner after a long, hard day in the sun....grilled cheese, tater tots, and a hot bowl of soup.
The best part of the day was when I got home, told Eva of the day's festivities, and then getting her reaction when she realized she's a couple of years away from joining in......
That's Daddy's girl!!!

What a great week!!!

So we have the new blog, which hopefully will allow me to update more frequently. It's been a busy week, so I apologize for the late posting and the amount of blabber from me. As you can see from the pic below, I've been a busy boy.

We started the week with a San Francisco Giants World Series title!!! I've been a fan of the Giants since I was just a boy....yes, a looooong time ago. Erin's already explained our bet and how Eva became a Giants fan, so how awesome is it that they win the title in Eva's first season as a fan!!! She is definitely a good luck charm, as evidenced by the continued success this weekend. On Daddy's birthday, Eva wore her blue and gold best and cheered the UCLA Bruins to a victory over Oregon State. It's been a rough year, but there's still a shot at an insignificant bowl game.
Then on Sunday, Eva's streak continued on with a Falcons victory!!! Sorry Rahim, your Tampa team is NOT the best team in the NFC - but at least you got to see firsthand who was!!! Eva did not have her Falcons onesie on because we found out the hard way that it's not working the magic it was supposed to....it is the reason we are 6-2 and not 8-0 (at least that's what we're blaming it on). So Eva is preparing to celebrate a Super Bowl in a couple of months, to go along with her World Series title, all in her first year.To top off this week - new ski equipment was purchased to go with the Colorado Pass this season (a birthday gift to myself), and we had an awesome evening on Saturday eating a homemade dinner prepared by mi amor, while enjoying some entertaining behavior and hilarious conversation with a group of friends and family. Thank you everyone for all the birthday wishes. For those of you that posted on my facebook page...yeah, I dont get on facebook at all - I don't even check my email or answer my phone half the time these days. Not sure why the page is still up, but thank you anyway. The best (or at least the most permanent) gift however will be unwrapped tomorrow evening - pix will follow after the work is done.....

To wrap up the week, the picture below was taken today - that face would have washed away any losses that occurred, but let's just believe that the princess was enjoying working her mojo for her Daddy - her gift to him as he turned 21 for the 21st time :)
