The Park...Rated R

Every evening we take the pugs and Eva out for a walk. Normally it is a relatively short walk to the park and back, but the other night we decided to take a little longer walk and let Eva actually play at the playground. At first, this seemed like a good idea...and it really was, but our trip quickly became RATED R.

You see, there are all sorts of groups of teenagers that hang out at the park. They hang out in little groups smoking and littering and, in general, are just up to no good. Our walk started with me overhearing a group of 8-10 boys cussing at each other. Nice. Then we saw our neighbors daughter, maybe 12-13, smoking with her friends. Nice. Then we walked by a parked car full of teenagers, smoking what I thought were cigarettes. I, being the innocent (and totally naive one when it comes to drugs) simply stated, "wow Drew, it smells like a skunk." To which, all of the teens laughed at me and Drew had to politely point out WHY it smelled like skunk.

We then proceed to the playground. Again, all was going well. And then, we noticed the "artwork" on the slide. Of course, we didn't really pay attention to it being there until AFTER we took the pics of Eva. So, here is your warning...when looking at these pics, there may be some profanity! If you don't look too close...you may be able to avoid seeing it!

Mot chillin' on the slide...has to be a part of everything!

Who needs toys when you can play with rocks and dirt?

This is my favorite!! She was having so much fun!  (can you see the bad words written in marker on the slide??)
Puggies!!!

Look at Mot at the top of the slide! Told you has has to be a part of everything!

p.s. I swear we do really live in a nice neighborhood and not in the ghetto!!!

Tooooo Long...

Let me begin by saying that I have been an awful blogger lately. I have been so busy at work and when I get home and put Eva to bed and then do a couple of chores...I am beat and the last thing I want to do is get on the computer. I have a list of things to blog about, starting with the summer weather we have been having and the fact that Eva and the pugs love their new pool! Last weekend it was so beautiful here...in the mid 80's so on Mothers Day we went out to enjoy the sun. I have to say that baby girl is pretty damn cute in her little swimsuits. And the dogs, well the pretty much tried to take over the pool. But all there had a good time chillin' in the pool. And then, the next day...it was snowing. The pool has been put away for the time being. Crazy Colorado weather!

Enjoying the sunny weather...

And dealing with the cold, rainy and snowy weather...

Eva loves her Motley and Motley loves her!!

Many of you might know that Motley is the original baby in our lives. Before we got pregnant, Motley (and then Peanut when we were lucky enough to adopt her) filled up our lives! So as you can imagine, I was very nervous when we knew we had a baby coming. In fact, the day I was induced, we took Motley and Peanut to my parents and when we left...I cried the whole way down the mountain. I was so nervous that Motley would be mad at us or something so silly. All of my fears have been beyond calmed now that I see Motley and Eva together. He is so patient with her as she pulls his ears and his paws and his fur and his harness.  He just sits there and lets her do what she wants. I am thinking that maybe, when she bends down and gives him a kiss out of the blue, it must melt his little puggie heart just like it does mine!!!

OK...so my camera needs to be replaced...sorry for the blurry photos! You get the jest...

Bunny Day!--Part 1

Our first Easter in our new home, with our baby girl and my parents and the pugs, well it was really, really nice.

As an FYI, I am missing some photos because, Colorado being Colorado, it rained on Easter Sunday and I wasn't able to take Eva's pics in her Easter dress outside. I think this weekend will be nicer so I will do it then and update in "Part 2".

We woke up,  gave Eva her Easter gift from the bunny and then we got started preparing for our brunch.

Daddy and Eva...just waking up, bit are still sleepy!

Easter goodies...Eva can't eat chocolate, but apparently she needed a big ol' duckie!
I tried to dress up the pugs...Mot didn't care, but as you can see...when I tried to put the bunny ears on Peanut, it just wasn't gonna happen.

This was attempt #1

And attempt #2
Then my parents got here and of course, they spoiled Eva rotten with all sorts of goodies...including a handmade dress and bonnet (of which I do not have a good picture of-of course)!!

We ate and ate and ate and then we went for a nice long walk and then we watched a movie while Eva napped, but we really just fell asleep.
My Martha Stewart table that didn't look near as cool as Martha's magazine.

Bunny napkins.

Coconut Macaroons

The buffet

Potatoes au Gratin

Roasted Tomatoes

Roasted Asparagus

Brown Sugar Basted Ham

Huge A$$ cinnamon roll courtesy of my mother!

DELICIOUS fruit salad...compliments of my father!

Even the pugs were worn out!!!

We hope everyone else had as wonderful and special of a day that we had!!! Happy Easter (belated)!

It is warming up...

...and we have been able to go out and about for some walks.

Last weekend I decide to brave it by myself -- meaning, I took a walk with Eva and the pugs...no small feat!!

We walked to the park that is about a block away from us, around the park, over the bridge and along the river to the house where the residents feed the ducks. These people have a farm feeder for chickens in their backyard that borders the river. Eva and Mot liked watching the ducks! And then we wound around the neighborhood back home. It was a great hour in the sun with my 3 kids!!
Mot is so photogenic!

Peanut gets tired pretty easily...good thing she can catch a ride!

Eva was having a great time!!! All smiles!

It was a long walk...so long that Mot needed to catch a ride too!

Gramma has been taking Eva on daily walks too...here is one of her pics!

Happy Birthday...

...to MOTLEY!!!! (aka...ItsaMot, Da Yittle One, Monk-a-monk, Monkey, Motza ball.....the list goes on and on)

Motley is 5 years old!!! Oh how I love this little pug...such unconditional love and happiness he brings to our lives. And the best part, he and Eva and Peanut are all growing to love each other so much.
