A trip to the ZOO!!!

We have gone to the Denver Zoo with Eva a few times, but the trip this past weekend was so much fun because she really seemed to notice the animals and was really interactive and playful. Although, I will say that I think she was more focused on watching all of the other kids and eating her cheerios.

It was such a fun day! Love spending time with my man and my little girl!

Looking at the bears...

...and talking to the monkeys!

Goofy Girl!!

This is my favorite picture of the day!!

Well... I really like this one too.

This little girl was walking all over the zoo.

A trip to the zoo is not complete without an ice cream cone.

St. Patrick's Day...my favorite day of the year...

...I love, love, love St. Patrick's day! I am not 100% Irish, but I fully embrace what little Irish blood I do have. My name is Erin afterall -- which means "Ireland" of course. It has forever been my dream to go to Ireland. I am still dreaming!!

This past weekend we had a little taste of the Emerald Isle when we took Eva to the St. Patrick's Day parade in Downtown Denver. We dolled up the baby in her best green attire and headed downtown, found a great spot near Coors Field and enjoyed the sights. Granted, it was 10 am and there were drunken folks wandering around the streets ...must have been tapping into the green beer already, but for the most part, it was good clean fun--a beautiful day, some bagpipes and Celtic dancers! So much fun!!!

It ain't a parade without a pug!

...and for all inquiring minds, next year for St. Patrick's Day, instead of going to the parade, we will be getting MARRIED!!!

8 Inches...

...of SNOW last night (C'mon--don't be thinking dirty, this is me writing the blog, not Drew)!!!

Anyway, it snowed last night...and then it was sunny today. Crazy Colorado weather! But it was warm enough to bundle Eva up to take a walk with the pugs. Mot loves the snow, when it isn't actually snowing, but just on the ground. He runs through it like he used to play in the sand at the beach in San Diego. Peanut, well, she pretty much stays on the areas that have been cleaned off. All in all, it was nice to finally get outside and get some fresh air. The negative 10 and 15 degree temps last week didn't make us want to go out and frolic in the snow!

p.s. - Eva kind of looks like a little boy in her UCLA snowsuit, that is waaaay too big for her! But it kept her warm and cozy...she even fell asleep on the way home!

One of my favorite things...

At Christmastime, one of my favorite things to do is go around the neighborhoods and see the Christmas lights. On Saturday night, we loaded up Eva in the car, stopped at Starbucks for Peppermint Mocha (very much in the holiday spirit), turned up the Christmas music and headed out to view the sparkly lights.

We drove down to Castlerock, where one of the managers at work puts on an amazing display with lights that light up according to the music on his very own radio station. We loved it! Didn't want to take Eva out of her car seat, primarily because putting her back in is very similar to putting her in a straight jacket, but Drew did take her out of the car and tip her seat to see the blinking lights...she was memorized! Below are a few pics of some of the other homes in the neighborhood. People go all out...I love it!!!

For those of you in Colorado...if you are interested in checking out my manager's lights, you can find them at Mikelson Blvd. and Lantern Trail in Castle Rock, CO 80104. Tune to 104.9 FM and it is best if you park on the east side of Lantern Trail.

Or you can follow this link for all sorts amazing light displays in the Denver metro area...http://taybrynn.e-flatirons.com/driving-tours

Drew took a video of Don's light display...for whatever reason, it is sideways, so use your imagination!!!

Merry Christmas to ME!!!

SO...I got a new ride!

After last weekend, with friends visiting and Christmas shopping, we realized just how cramped we were in the Accord and Drew's truck--with suitcases and strollers and shopping bags and diaper bags and coats, etc, etc, etc. Not to mention that, even though there has been NO snow in Denver thus far this year, we figured it was probably a good idea for one of us to have a 4 wheel drive.

Say hello to our new Honda Pilot! I love it!!!

Make the Moment Last

We have the best photographer ever!
So lucky that we found her! Thanks Megan!

Sunrise in Colorado

I truly believe that Colorado is one of the most beautiful states and places to live in all of the country. If we could just add an ocean somewhere, it would be perfect. I feel blessed to have grown up here, but it took moving away for a couple years to really realize what a wonderful place that it is. I am so excited to be back. I love taking the dogs to the dogs parks here (and not having them almost pass out from heat exhaustion), I love hiking, I love being near family and friends again, I love that Drew got to go skiing this past weekend, I love being outside in the crisp fall (should be winter) air. I could give up driving in the snow, but it is worth it when you look out on a winter morning and see a fresh dusting of snow and then cuddle up inside, near the fire with a hot cup of coffee and a good movie.

And of course, there are the beautiful sunrises. I think they might even rival those in Arizona.

I am so excited to be here again and I am so glad that we get to call Colorado home for my family!

Rub-a-dub-dub...

Last night, Drew decided to join Eva in the bathtub. No, it's not what you think! He was fully clothed!

Eva loves the bath! Getting out of the bath, on the other hand, is a completely different story! She has been known to scream bloody murder! But then, we put her in her comfy pj's, she calms down and snuggles with you. Which is well worth the screaming!!!

So we have abandoned our Shutterfly website and opted to do a blog instead. This way, we can update daily if we feel like it and anyone or everyone can keep up to date with us! So much happens on a day-to-day basis that it is hard to capture it all in one monthly update!

I was inspired by my friend Dawn's blog. It is the best and it certainly keeps me interested! Up until we had Eva, it was kind of hard to keep a blog going...I just didn't have that much to report on. But now...we have Eva, our princess...and the pugs of course!

So hopefully y'all enjoy the blog! Here goes...
